So much can happen in three or so years. It’s an obvious but true statement.
It took me a lot of sleepless nights and soul searching for me to let go of what happened during my brother’s funeral. Sometimes, it still bothers me. But because of that experience and the year up to that point, I realized that I cannot control events or others and their actions. It’s a tidbit that I consistently remind myself of.
Within the same year of 2011, my family grew and lost a member. My son was born two days after my own birthday in July. My grandmother passed the following month. While she didn’t get to meet him, she knew he was here and was able to rub my belly when he was in it.
My heart bursts with so much love and happiness since my son was born. It’s such a weird feeling to think you know what love is and then to be given the opportunity to feel it throughout your body. Watching him grow up so far has been amazing. Luckily any of his problems, like sensitivity to milk products, have been small. He’s a pretty easy going kid and has slept at least 5 hours a night since birth.
Yarnwise?? Well, funny you should ask, since that is the reason for my whole blog. Explosive!!! I’ve conquered wearable knits, like sweaters and tops. And I’m pushing my way through spinning. After visiting England in 2012 and seeing real life spinning wheel, I was bitten. The internet makes learning these things so easy. I couldn’t image life without it. My exposure to such arts would be limited since I live in South Florida and there exists a different need for wearable knits.
I still need to learn how to read crochet wearables correctly. Rather, the gauging those items. I have trouble counting my stitches so I just avoid them when possible. Additionally, I am working on learning about fibers and eventually work at spinning with intent. So far, though, I’ve just been spinning based on feel without any real project in mind.
Much more to come in 2013. Stay tuned.
